Ick! Summer reading!

Okay! Hands up! Which one of you invented summer reading?
I have read 6 of the 15 books! I only needed to read 3! Below is a small paragraph about each.

The required book:

Hatchet by Gary Paulsen
:

Hatchet is a book about a boy named Brian. Brian is on his way to see his dad in Canada when the plane crashes in oil fields on the edge of a lake. Brian learns to survive in the wilderness.
ICK. Gary Paulsen repeats EVERYTHING!

"Fun" books:

Tangerine by Edward Bloor :

Paul Fisher is a boy wearing glasses. The book is about how he can still do fun things like soccer with glasses.
Wow! Didn't know it could be so interesting!

The Girl who Owned a City by O.T. Nelson:

This was a good book. The plot was fantastic. Lisa and her brother Todd are living in the future where all the people 12+ have died. The kids have to scavenge through the month by believing in themselves.

Seeing the Blue Between by Paul B. Jeneczko:

Just finished the book. There are many different poets in the book. The intros were boring once and a while, though. My favorite Author was Kristine O'Connell George.

Heart to Heart : New poem Inspired by 20th Century Art by Jan Greenburg:

This book was noooooooooot my cup of tea. This book didn't work with the art related poetry. Not for me, at least. There's not anything else to say.

Game Face : What does a female athlete look like by Jane Gottesman:

This was very well put together. The actual book was about women athletes who lived in the 1960's who put there own stories about growing up with only boy sports, and what they did about it! Plus, there were pictures between each entry.

Another (in MY opinion) HORRID book.

Hello and salutations! Hi to everyone at CMS! You know who you are!

OKAY........................................... Do you want to see my true and nasty opinion? Well look down BELOW.......!

The Conch Bearer by
Chitra Banerjee Divakaruniy! The review........, well, was 0 out of 5 stars in my opinion, which is a scary one! The main character Anand leaves his family to go "search for a 'lost' city of magic". Ring any bells? My friends, if you LOVE magic books and people deserting their families, then you'll LOVE this book. (If you do read it, I'm going to say NISHA WAS MY FAVE CHARACTER!!!!!)

See you next post! -Swimgirl-

A different senario!

Okayyyyyyyyyyy, hold onto your horses, cause I'm changing it up. Today's blogging is a famous author, can you guess his name???

RICK RIORDAN!

From Greek mythology, to Egyptian mythology, this author covers everything from psycho bird headed gods, to teenage hormones. His most popular series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, is about a normal guy. If you count normal as being the son of a sea god, facing demons, not to mention having dyslexia, and being ADHD. Can Percy face a cruel Titan, and deal with hormones? Find out now!

His next series , The Kane Chronicles, is about Sadie and Carter Kane. The only weird part is they were split up when their mom died, they've discovered that they're the most ancient and powerful family in the world, not to mention that they've got Egyptian Gods on the lose. Can the blood of the pharaohs save Set from destroying North America????

Now there's a series I'm not to fond of that Riordan started. 39 clues. I sooooo don't want to ruin the series for you, so I'm only gonna say this. If you like action-adventure, be sure to get this series(Plus I read the 1st couple of books in the
series' , so I don't remember much;)

So take it from me, just because I didn't like everything he wrote, doesn't mean you can't!

Gerald is about to inherit one of Europe's biggest fortunes! When Gerald's lawyer gives him a mysterious letter from his great-aunt, describing how she died, can Gerald piece together the puzzle???!?!?

!0,000,000 stars! I LOVE the way Richard writes!
